PhilosophyHarbor Information Technologies is a Massachusetts single- member LLC. Mark Quindlen is the sole proprietor. Our belief: the best way to serve our clients is to offer them economies and stability of commoditization without the drawbacks. We recommend and support only name-brand, best-of-breed, widely adopted technology products then we couple them with a deep level of personalized service. Instead of feeling like a number served by a faceless far away megacorporation, our clients receive comprehensive and personal service directly from the proprietor of a local IT service firm. The proprietor has skills and experience working with customers of similar needs and is a member of a cooperating network of other IT companies that share the same focus and philosophy. Together, the proprietors research products, develop service offerings, share best practices and provide service redundancy to our mutual clients. Our clients are not forced to place alll of their trust in a custom solution with one service provider - large or small. Instead, they benefit by using mainstream products that enjoy ubiqutous support and receive services designed and tested in collaboration by IT professionals, each of whom understands the trials and tribulations of running a business with their name attached to it.
Background: Before starting Harbor IT, Mark was employed by Microsoft Corporation for nearly a decade in the Microsoft Consulting Services group. He worked with many New York and Boston area firms in a variety of capacities on emerging PC & related technologies. In the mid 80's to early 90's, he was employed with Logica, PLC (formerly Data Architects, Inc) for 5 years where he developed strategic custom software for several large Boston and New York financial firms. In the early to mid 1980's, he owned his own firm which serviced approximately 50 small business clients in a wide range of industries in New England. He later joined forces and merged his client base with CompuCo, Inc. of Boston, MA where he and others built a strong small-business focused IT company. Mark started his career in the computer industry in 1980, employed by Shawmut Bank and Wang Laboratories as a computer programmer. He is a graduate of University of Massachusetts and lives on the South Shore with his family. |
